As the Director General of Jammu & Kashmir Police, I am pleased to have the opportunity of introducing you to this department which has a proud history dating back to 1873.

Jammu and Kashmir Police is proud to offer a full array of law enforcement and support services. These services include, but are not limited to Criminal Investigations, Counter Terrorism operation, Traffic regulations, Effective Intelligence generation, Law and Order maintenance, Crime Prevention Activities, Judicial Prosecution of Criminal Cases. Canine Unit, Bomb Disposal services, Crisis Negotiataion, Drug De-addiction Services, Maintaining Essential Communications and Building proper record.
Our sworn and civilian personnel have lived and worked in Jammu and Kashmir for most of their careers and as result, are woven into the fabric of the community. I am very proud of the officers and civilian members of the police service and their dedication to the community. The fact that more than 1500 members of Jammu and Kashmir Police have laid down their lives in the line of duty is more than enough to describe the valour and dedication of the officers and men of this department. We remain dedicated to community safety and are proud to be your Police services.
